Unrefined rock salt is primarily sodium chloride, but it also contains other mineral salts in various concentrations – including manganese, magnesium, calcium, and sulfates which have long been credited with having therapeutic properties. The environment in the salt mines has no airborne pollutants, no humidity, and a stable temperature. All of these elements work together to provide a healing environment for anyone entering these mines.
With a special machine called a Halogenerator, we are able to reproduce that therapeutic environment and treat those who suffer from respiratory illnesses in addition to lung and skin conditions. See the Conditions Treated page for the complete list. A dry salt aerosol, made up of salt particles that are microscopic in size, is circulated in the therapy room where you simply sit and relax. You will not notice the dry-salt enriched air that when easily inhaled with natural breathing is able to deliver low concentrations of salt deep into the lungs where it is most needed. No therapy treatment could be easier.
The benefits and effectiveness of halotherapy (salt therapy) continue to be researched, and much information exists to support our belief that this is a great treatment choice for those who suffer from allergy and respiratory problemsFeaturing adult and children’s therapy rooms, The Salt Suite offers clients a natural way to find relief from respiratory ailments, skin conditions and more. Inside the therapy room, an environment is created to mimic the salt mines of Eastern Europe, where in the mid-1800s, it was discovered that mine workers rarely suffered from any respiratory disorders. Unrefined rock salt, which is primarily sodium chloride (NACL) and other mineral salts, coat the walls and cover the floor in a thick sandy layer. Behind the scenes, a special machine, called a Halogenerator, circulates dry salt aerosol into the air. In microscopic form, the salt particles are almost undetectably absorbed and inhaled by clients as they doze and sleep or, in the children’s room, as they romp and play.
When the dry sodium chloride enters the body, its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties do a number of healing maneuvers. Lung functions improve; nasal passages and lung tracts clear of toxins and pollutants; bronchial inflammation reduces; and later, clients may find their endurance has improved and their snoring has diminished.
“The benefits and effectives of halotherapy, also known as salt therapy, continue to be researched,” said Jamie Gonzalez, owner of the Salt Suite Palm Beach Gardens, in a prepared statement. “So much information exists to support our belief that this is a great treatment choice for those who suffer from allergy and respiratory problems. We encourage guests to visit us and experience a session at no cost. We are confident you will feel the results.”
